The PR High Continues

All runners are competitors. Very few of us are able to compete to win a large race or place in our age group out of hundreds or thousands of runners.

We compete with our self, with our previous finish times. Runners have an idea in their head with the finish time they want to hit. They study the pace per mile necessary to earn that finish time.

For the 2018 Mercy Health Glass City Marathon, I wanted to run a a 2:20 half marathon. My previous PR was 2:32 and that was from 2012. I was in desperate need of a new PR. Not only did I hit the 2:20 finish time, I finished with a 2:15! I am still completely floored that I was able to finish at a 2:15.

This was Chad’s first half marathon and he had a fantastic race as well. We had a brilliant day, living on the runners high.

I am so happy about this PR, that almost two months later, I still think about it and it brings a smile to my face. I’m in love with the Mercy Health Glass City Marathon, and I’m excited to try for another PR in 2019.
