Eating Clean(er)

Since I can’t seem to make myself get out the door and run and I can’t keep my mouth shut long enough to stop eating, I need to do something drastic. I have gained 5 very unwanted pounds over the past few weeks and I need a way to jump start myself into health and fitness again. I really do want to run and I really do want to eat better…but it just hasn’t happened. Plus ice cream sandwiches are really good.

My goal for the next week is to get out and run 3 times and to eat clean. Yes, I said eat clean. I am going to do my best to stay away from processed foods. And with my love of nighttime cereal snacking, this may be rough. But I need something that will stop the sugar cravings and I think this may be just the thing to get me started.


I am going to try my best to cut out all of the foods that have an ingredient list, or ingredients that I can’t pronounce. I googled some clean eating recipes and some clean eating grocery lists…and I think I can pull this off. I am going to start out doing this for a week (thanks, Jess!), and then evaluate my progress at that time. If it is going well, then I’ll continue with it. Honestly, I don’t see how it could go wrong really. I will be eating healthier foods and since I am going to run 3 times in the next week, I will be acting healthier than I have in a few months!

I sure hope this works. I need something huge to get me going in the right direction again.


Do you eat clean?


  1. I don’t eat clean, and I know there’s a lot of benefit to it, and for the sake of being healthy, it’s important, but I don’t. I did last summer, a month, and it just wasn’t realistic for me to do as a lifestyle change. I try and incorporate lots of foods that are pure, clean and unprocessed, but it’s hard, inconvenient (just being honest) and damnit, I like sugar infused cupcakes! 😉

    You’ve got the power to do whatever you need to do for yourself. If you need this to give you a kick in the butt, go for it and I look forward to hearing how it’s going for you.
