Post-Christmas Thoughts

It has been so long since I have felt like writing. I don’t know what has happened in the last 5 months or so, but I just don’t feel the urge to write anymore. I am hoping that it will come back because, as usual, I have plenty to talk about, with no want to write it.  I have been given a few great opportunities for product reviews so you’ll see those coming your way over the next two weeks.  It is amazing how great products I have never tried before can change my life in such a great way after only one use or after realizing I can no longer live without it!

My Bo had a great Christmas. He is in love with his new, and giant, bone we gave to him. He has buried it in the couch, slept with it and just recently started to chew on it, I think this was a home run Christmas gift for him!

photo (5)I am still on my bipolar medication and I think that it is generally helping me in the long run with my feelings and moods. The medication may even be the reason I have not felt a strong urge to want to write anymore. Like I said, I’ll just have to force myself to write again and hope that habit clicks in so I am writing on a normal schedule again. There is something so freeing for me to writing down my story and share it with others.
I am starting to run again and it seems to be going pretty well since my 5th knee surgery in October. After a small injury in the beginning of December I am back at it with a vengeance!

I have also been consistently losing weight over the course of the past 2 months. I am down a total of 13 pounds right now, with about 13-17 more to lose until I am at goal weight. I am finally within the healthy BMI range again, for a long time I was categorized as overweight, I never want to get that heavy again!  How am I losing weight?  I am eating around 1200 calories per day and exercising when I have the time to. I have always heard that weight loss is primarily done in the kitchen, so that is what I am truly focusing on, with great results!  I have lost an average of 1.6 pounds per week and all of my clothes are starting to fit more normally again!  Goodbye baggy, shapeless clothing!  Hello everything in my closet that I have not been able to wear in the past year +. One thing that did help me lose weight was Body By Vi shakes. I mixed these shakes with some Silk Almond Milk (original flavor) and I had a 150 calorie drink that kept me full for hours with plenty of protein!

Here’s to hoping that within the next two months I’ll be down to my goal weight!
Happy Friday, I hope you all enjoy your weekend!

  1. Did you do the Santa Hustle?

I am still enjoying writing, just not running. But I have put together a plan to get my butt in gear again… but not overwhelm myself with miles. Hope it works.

    • I had to opt out of the Santa Hustle due to a small knee injury. I knew that 13 miles would have further injured the knee so playing it safe was the ‘adult’ thing to do.

In the last 6 months I can count on 1 hand the number of times that I have run. So I really need to get back at it and use it as a stress reliever and as some time to myself. Plus I think I may want to try for marathon #2 this year.

  2. Glad things are going well!
